Also metroid prime has a lot of generic scenery, with a bunch of boring low res setpieces. It didn't age as well as wind waker and was not as special to begin with

yeah, the legends games did it much better. The goal of Wind Waker's art style was iterative and expressive characters but they didn't do half as good a job as capcom. Makes sense, Windbreaker was a rushed out fart.
