I've been here since late 07...this place has always been a cesspool. It's basically a glorified porn site now, nowhere close to the OC or memes it used to be I agree, but no this place was always a cesspool filled with faggotry and negativity. maybe we just focused on the wrong things. i understand that people have always posted fucked up shit on the site, but that was part of the package. it was the whole "we show the truth here" thing that made it so mezmerizing. saying whatever you wanted to say was liberating. but even back then, we respected each other a little bit more and had serious discussions. now you can't tell who's just being retarded on purpose and who's just genuinely retarded. every post now, since about 2013 has been about how inflammatory and provocative your post can be. posting the most retarded opinion you possibly can, and disguising it as if you agree or being absolutely genuine so that people who know better can't help but respond.
it never used to be that way. i remember when we got up to shit that wasn't just baiting each other for fucking (you)s. it was always counter culture, it was always raw, yes. we were always inappropriate to the greater society, which made it hard to come back from and act normally around others, when you're so used to being so honest and blunt here.
but we used to have fun. in ways that weren't just pulling at each others tails. we used to have an optimism that isn't present here anymore. we used to get excited. now it's all coom posting, demoralization, Any Forums leaking into the rest of the site, and reminding you that nothing is good and everything is terrible. we genuinely used to enjoy life more here.
