Why not just make Dead Space 4 nobody asked for a god damn remake

The textures look like shit and the engine craps itself above 60FPS and requires fan patches.

My guess is they're probing the ground for a true sequel, but I'm not sure just how much money/time they're saving by making a remake, considering they'll have to redo all assets, re-record the lines, make a new engine essentially.

It's either EA finally realizing they could've done better with DS and want to milk it properly instead of doing the same mistakes like with DS3, or simply to feed of nostalgia...or both. Still sucks what they did to Visceral and this is something that cannot be forgiven.
REALLY HOPING it will be good. Also gameplay when? Also waiting for Negative Atmosphere. Hoping that would also come out good.
Sadly with how DS3 ended it would be impossible to make a DS4. Unless the whole DLC ending would be retconned into one really crazy hallucination.

Just make a SPIN OFF. Not a remake PLEASE. Set it underwater, or a space station, call it Dead Space: Monolith/Outbreak/Infestation/Quarantine/Extinction. Why WHY pour all this effort remaking a game that doesn't need it, instead of making something new with an engineer, technician, doctor or anyone. AFTER That spinoff works out, then go make Dead Space 4. FUck sake. Waiting years for a new dead space game, and it's LITERALLY more of what we already have. Fucking waste of time.

I would be more than happy if they made Ellie playable in a Engineering Suit. It would be more memorable than John Carver Soldier man in DS3. Either way, I just want a new game, either DS4 as Isaac, or more realistically, a spin off where you play as a scientist, soldier, technician whatever. The plot doesn't need to be extreme, just make it like the first game where your trying to survive. From what i've read and seen, the team behind the new remake are genuinely doing their best and pouring their all into this, espically getting Gunner Wright to voice Isaac, they've contacted a handful of people who were apart of Visceral. I SEE the effort, but I feel like it shouldn't be wasted on something we've already seen. If I want a remake of DS1, I'd download the graphics mod and run Ray Tracing on the old DS1.

I'm still trying to understand the reasoning here, because EA LIQUIDATED Visceral because they set this impossible sales target and of course the game didn't make half of it. They also strong armed Visceral into making Dead Space 3 Coop and now years later they want to invest all this money into remaking their work so many years later? I know EA doesn't learn from their mistakes, so the only logical reason I can come up with for this is that it's a shameless lowest possible effort cash grab.

sounds like a low effort project to show off tech. could’ve easily made a spinoff like severed or extraction, remaking the 1st wasnt mandatory. also strips away a good chunk of novelty which is required for horror games

Oh on that, yes you are 100% correct. EA is looking for a paycheck, and they're creating this remake to test the waters for nostalgia money and to see if there's any interest in the franchise. Which there IS but they wouldn't know from how hard the suits at EA have mismanged literally every game and IP they ever got their goblin hands on.
EA does not care for the franchise or quality, they care about money. However recently they've realised there IS a market for singleplayer story driven games. Where before they said that is dead and people only care about multiplayer. Anyway, I do NOT trust EA, I do trust however the devolopers. The best example is the C&C remake. That was handled perfectly in every single regard, and with some of the promotional material for the Dead Space remake I feel as if they have the right team for it. We won't know until it comes out of course, but ultimately yes EA are soulless as fuck, and the only mistakes they've learned from is how to properly milk the IP's they themselves have killed.
