Do not recommend: Various Xbox controllers: bad dpads, bad build quality, don't like the asymmetrical sticks. I'm not willing to try the newer models
DS4: bad build quality. Sticks wear out quickly. Charging port is prone to breaking.
DS5: awful build quality with cheap sticks.
Switch pro controller: no analog triggers. Poor dpad

tried looking for ways to refurbish or touch up a used controller? perhaps learning how to make components, could make your own joysticks out of more durable materials or something of the like, that's my solution when I want to get some tool or electronic thingy and my choice is to buy used or pay way too much for a mint condition version of the thing I want.
