So can we finally admit steamdeck flopped?

So can we finally admit steamdeck flopped?

It's too big and bulky and valve's post sale support is easily the worst in the industry

I can't understand how i can play Ruined King on the Awitch but not steam deck.
what is the problem?

>been out for a while now and it's still backordered
>people are so desperate to get their hands on one that they're willingly paying out the ass for scalped units
uh

>Thinks that's a good thing
Valve doesn't get any of that scalper money, which means they severely under valued the Steamdeck by trying to sell it at a loss.
They are shooting themselves in the foot.

Steam controller got patent trolled and still receives updates. Steam machines weren't made by Valve (admittedly a mistake by Valve), Steam Link got superseded by being able to do it on your phone, and still receives updates.

I cant even get one in my shithole, i just want a small cheap laptop that can actually run games

I liked the Steam controller and still occasionally use the Steam link to lazily stream games to my bedroom TV.

How so? Everything they made is sti supported. Where the fuck does this come from?

Isnt it still sold out for the next 2 years? How is that a flop?

Flop (noun) - when demand for a product is so high that they can't make them quickly enough

You clearly didn't own a steam link or controller.

i haven't even gotten mine yet. how can you tell me it's a sucess or failure?

>So can we finally admit steamdeck flopped?
When they stop selling ever unit they make then yes, we can admit it flopped.

>Sell product for less than it costs to make
>Can't make many in the first place
>Demand is so high that people buy them only to sell them at 3x the price
>Valve doesn't see that money, so PAID for the scalper to make a profit
>People starting to cancel preorders
>List of games supported on Linux was a lie
>Many games barely run at all
Yeah, it's a flop. Basically Kickstarter tier.
Never pay for beta hardware.

>IT'S A FLOP BECAUSE IT'S GOOD VALUE
are you retarded?
>List of games supported on Linux was a lie
yes, you are

NTA, I own both, explain yourself.

Yes.

Valve were retards with the Machine banking on devs adapting native Linux versions. Proton is a much more successful endeavor.

I agree everyone should cancel their reservations its a piece of shit

Selling for less than what a subset of the market is willing to pay does not mean they're selling for a loss.
Only the very cheapest Steam Deck is being sold for cost, and like other similarly designed systems using semi-custom hardware the 'loss' is from needing to pay off the R&D costs.
