Pathfinder: Kingmaker

What class should I make my main character? I can't take this constant restarting shit anymore, I just want to play the game.

Give me a minute, I will write something up

Lawfull Good
Aesimar; Angel Blood
Eldritch Scion; Abysmal bloodline
You can dip into monk to get crane early

Eldritch scion with Dragon bloodline

>Classes not used by companions
Paladin: Not many chances for smite, but still helpful for midgame. Hospitaler can tank and keep party alive. Axiomatic weapon bond is helpful
Sorcerer: If you do not like Octavia, you take over as the main full arcane caster. Arcane Sorcerer for DCs, Sage if you are evil or Sylvan for pet and easy mode
Druid: Worse than cleric, but still a strong spell list. Defender of true world for shifter druid, feyspeaker for caster who gets domain (and can still do shit like leopard shift with mirror image), Blight for unfair micromanagement build
Monk: Lawful only. Either extreme tank dexterity build with crane style or Strength Pummeling or dragon style shenanigans. Prime for dips and multiclassing, shoudl take it to 11 at least. Sensei is a unique tank+Support option kinda like bard with a few unique support abilities
Slayer: DPS. Anything but Vanguard. If you pick Deliverer, pick anything Lawful

>Unique archetypes from classes used by companions
Magus Sword saint. Strength build for two handed big weapon dice or dex dodgetank build. Both will also deliver crits.
Vivisectionist Alchemist: Likes to stab and uses mutagesn and self buffs. You do get a stabby rogue, but still
Freebooter: Ranger without a pet, focuses on party support. Pick weapon type you like and go ham
Archaeologist Bard: Super skillmonkey. Multiclass it and go into melee, unlike bard companion
Kinetic Knight: Let the goats throw bolts and deadly earths, go with Kinetic sword and do trips with Earth.
Aldori Defender/Swordlord: Dodgetank with Full bab. it's fun, allows for some combat maneuvers too

There are multiclass dip monstrocities that do ridiculous shit, but I'd say play pure

I want a game like this but mixed with roguelike.

How the fuck does it make sense to make a hrdcoded storyline in a game where there is so much content in making different builds...
The devs are having a cognitive dissonance.

Roguelike infinite dungeon dlc
Ditch companions and run custom with 6 builds at once.
Respec constantly.
Replay a lot.

I hate this game as someone that plays actually pathfinder. Why the fuck did owlcat have to give bonus features to enemies at levels they would not have them at. They say it's to compensate for party size but that's not it because if you make mercenaries you'll btfo everything. If you stick to the shitty default party the games difficulty ranges from okay to extremely jarring. There's so much shit you gotta tweak in the difficulties settings for this shit to feel good to play at all

What the fuck is the point of playing rpgs if all you want is diablo with friends?

Sometimes you want a 12 session epic, sometimes you want to kick the door of dungeon over 2-3 sessions.

>because if you make mercenaries you'll btfo everything
Provided you have the DLC you can get a full party without having to rely on mercenaries pretty damn early.

Pathfinder is the most non roleplaying rpg in existence

>you can get a full party without having to rely on mercenaries pretty damn early.
yeah, like 5 minutes after you leave the outpost

I went with a dodgetank dex sword saint, it's pretty fun. your damage is pretty good but the real fun is just being nearly unkillable to everything but touch attacks. you can just run straight to the backline in every fight and smack the casters and ranged enemies to death

I grabbed this a couple days ago and after my barbarian woman character took damage 5 times in a row while picking berries from a bush i just stopped playing.

Finally done, is this any good or is there something I should change? Is playing a sword saint fun, or would Eldritch Scion be more fun? Feels a lot weaker then the generic fighters I was working with before.

lolrekt

It's that easy, user.
