However he's mainly tied to the druids and the priestesses still worship Elune

The game doesn't explain how it Works. There were a half troll half nelf from the failed ttrpg and there are high elf mutts, but gameplay wise they're high elves too. All mutts came from elf mothers so it must be a pokemon thing.

Nightborne basically captured everything awesome about the Highborn and also maintained a fairly matriarchal society, with both Elisande and the First Arcanist being female. Valtrois was my favorite though.
It took them forever to get Nightborne as a playable race to have the customization options give them justice (they wasted forever trying to make Void Elves cool until finally giving in to all the High Elf faggots), but at least they had the coolest city and zone in the entire game and weren't fucked over to the extent Night Elves were.
