What went wrong?
What went wrong?
The 'polish the first half, do the second half post-release' infection. A sickening ailment.
almost everything
A lot, but for me it was no RP support despite opting for a fairly immersive world, housing and a vast open world for exploration. Devs seem schizophrenic.
>canceled games and failed games
AGS is off to a great start.
The only thing that went right was the timing. I played like 60 hours because there was nothing else. Complete dogshit otherwise
Pvp game in which:
> You would do 2 or 3 wars per week as a defender
> Only the 50 best participate
> Play gacha to craft best equiptment, instead of crafting system in which you renew your broken equiptment
> World pvp have no value at all
> Battlegrounds.
> 2k players per server
Also a lots of the systems were tied to leveling and are forgotten at the time you are max level.
thinking that people not wanting a full loot PvP only game meant they wanted a boring dungeon grind PvE game. They should have focused more on the frontier survival aspect. Taking ideas from The Forest,Valhiem,Runescape classic and Wildstar's palyer housing system.
I still log in for wars and occasionally grind some stuff to put on the market to make money.
The game has a serious content drought right now but I'm holding out hope they can get something worthwhile by the end of the year.
The big problem is that they seem to think the stupid fucking things are "content" and waste our time with them instead of working on systems that create emergent gameplay.
Any expedition they release will be interesting until you get the drops you want out of it then there's not much reason to ever run it again.
They need to really work on world events, particularly pvp events that will actually engage players instead of shoving pvp into the corner with these instanced modes.
It might actually be one of the worst MMO's I have ever played, and I've been playing the genre for 20 years
>New world is a gutted corpse
>Final fantasy is a zero gameplay walking sim
>wow is wow
for me it was the removal of meaningful flinch mechanics
they had something great during testing but decided to 180 after that cuck Asmongold couldn't figure out stamina management and got "stunlocked" by hatchets
couple this with obnoxious amounts of healing and high time to kill, pvp combat never felt satisfying
Did Amazon kill it yet?
The grind in this shit game was absolutely unnecessary. Fuck the devs for that.
Listening to Streamers.
Turns out diversity hires are shit at their job.
Making excuses for the devs... Holy cuckoldry.
This is why game devs should never, and I mean NEVER listen to Streamers. Growth through streamers is fake growth, he brought his audience which inflated numbers but as soon as he left, they left and now you're stuck with a game that people who don't follow those streamers will never jump in because they want nothing to do with those retards, or they had a really bad experience during the launch week when all those streamer kiddies were in game.
Far better to grow your game to a real player base, don't listen to, appeal to, allow streamers in your game full stop.
>make full loot pvp sandbox
>lol we turned it into a themepark mmo halfway through
>no endgame pve content
>just add more grinds so nobody can reach that point
>still have an economy that relies on full loot pvp to work
I would play it if they re-release it with full loot pvp.
The devs are diversity hires too nigger
The diversity hires are the devs
the economy was a disaster, and on my server, all the top green faction owners secretly stole all the gold in their guild banks at 3am and transferred servers when green started losing, essentially ruining the server's entire pvp.
i imagine this happened on a lot other servers too.
