Steam controller 2 when?

After the Deck, I'm not sure how a new SC would look like. Would it have everything the Deck has? (minus the touchscreen)

They need to fit in a second stick and and 6 facebuttons. God how i wish the Deck had 2 extra buttons next to xyba

why do you need second stick for?
you have every other controller if you want 2 sticks

I didnt follow the news when it first released, what exactly is wrong with the steam controller?

It feels a bit cheap and light in hand, and obviously the design is definitely weird and not for everyone. It's not bad though, just a bit bizarre.

the circle pad on the right doesn't work intuitively as a joystick. while you can make it snap back like a joystick that it doesn't have the spring to feel it go back really messes up controls. you lose where your thumb is pointing without the resistance. and the idea of using it like a mouse is meh for anything like a fps. same say playing a fps with a touchpad on a laptop, trash.

>Madcatz tier button quality
>shoulders click like a dollar store mouse
>left trackpad has a useless D-pad embossment
>no real D-pad
>single useless left analog stick that the left trackpad completely replaces
>A and B buttons swapped
>AA batteries impossible to remove
>Missing r5 and L5 buttons that are on the Steam Deck
>Missing "..." button on the Steam Deck

Too complicated to use for the brainlet masses.
If you actually bother setting it up, it's arguably one of the best controllers out there. Just most people don't have the patience to do that.

no analogue stick, can't do flicking motion.
garbage for action games and fighting games.

hopefully soon
it's just that it's weird.
yes you can,don't lie.

The build quality is on-par at least.

Any good places to get replacement usb dongles?

Broken or lost?

The left pad doesn't really work as a dpad and the battery sockets are borderline too small and can damage batteries trying to remove them.
Otherwise, it's basically the best controller. It only stopped getting sold because of microsoft being niggers and patent trolling via corsair.

I got the steam machine and never used it

Broken

They were forced to stop selling it due to a bullshit patent lawsuit which stopped the in-development Steam Controller 2 from being released.
Now Valve has won in court and had the patent invalidated, so Steam Controller 2 will finally be released, but it will be based on the third-generation 'Neptune' layout used in the Steam Deck.

I was already thinking about getting one eventually right before the big sale happened. I might get a second version if they ever make one.

God damn this controller was fucking terrible. If all you were doing was playing old KBM games, maybe, but it was dog shit compared to any other controller for any modern AAA game. I grabbed one on launch day and a year later it was completely dead.
