Just beat red dead redemption, how do they follow up something so kino?
Just beat red dead redemption, how do they follow up something so kino?
Why, by making a prologue game to shit on the backstory and characters.
Wait what happens to dutch in 2
been replaying rdr on an emulator and it's so hilarious of them not mentioning Arthur at all. they need to remaster the game and keep everything the same but actually reference Arthur
Based. I thought no one else was bothered by this.
Who the hell is Arthur
play rdr2, it's a worse game but a better lifesim than rdr1
They're just gonna retroactively make the ghost from the side missions into Arthur
he goes insane in a way 1 really didn't show.
But you kill him in 1 is it a flash back or something?
red dead 2 takes place before the events of 1, it fully explores the fall of dutch's gang from the point of view of aforementioned arthur morgan, dutch's right hand man.
you also learn how marston ended up with the feds at the end of it,
Do you understand? It seems like you have no awarenes of red dead 2 plot
Oh I thought you were running around as John Marston Jr in 2
Jack getting a sequel would be fun, but nope 2 is a prequel sadly.
>1917
>jack has built a life several years after the events of RDR1
>drafted into WWI
>deserts and ends up on the run in France
>does what he needs to survive and escape back to his wife and new son
I think it would be fun.
3 is probably going to be another prequel with the golden age of the wild west, they had a one-liner for one gang member who was killed offscreen
They also had en entire set of prequel story DLC set up for GTA V. Who knows what will really happen.
>Rockstar makes a linear, replayable WW1 game
>instead of a big open world with a bunch of fluff
I'd actually be really happy about this, imagine the multiplayer
...on second thought, don't, rockstar can't make good multiplayer since after RDR: Undead Nightmare, it's all shark cards and security issues.
oh fuck off you contrarian edge lord RDR2 was kino af
Red Dead 2 is a genuinely amazing game for the first playthrough. You should try it
I have it on PS4 and I'm mostly just bored.
It's a feat that it runs so well on even a base PS4.
>linear, replayable
Choose one
>2 is a prequel
>set it in almost the exact same time period with the exact same themes and story beats
Still don't know why they did this. Should have started in the 1870s and ended with the Blackwater heist. Then you could actually see the progression of the gang and world itself over time.
It's a really boring game yeah.
The only way I can soak enjoyment from it is playing it on PC with mods.
I fly around, install gore and ragdoll mods. Make crime scenes by head shotting black people down in the bums of Saint Denis.
Flying around looking at the crazy clouds, just fucking with the game.
Pretending to be a serial killer in Saint Denis though is peak kino, and this game really lets you target minorities with zero penalty, so my Arthur is a infamous black person killer, you can hog tie them up and execute them. it's fucking brutal.
I wish there was more Cowboy in this game though, you can't do ANYTHING outside of the story, and it's practically just a fucking movie.
True, but whenever I think about RDR2, I think "Wow, the map designers put so much detail into a whole bunch of flyover content, what a shame"
Like, there's so much autoaim I don't feel like I'm even playing the game, and whatever retard thought you should play an entire animation for EACH corpse you loot and EACH pantry you raid for cash and EACH bear you skin should be fired, that wastes so much time for a game that is not sim-my enough to warrant that amount of time wasting. I also feel extremely railroaded into rockstar's way of doing things during missions, where they will insta-fail you for doing anything remotely creative.
It's just not my kind of game. I would love if I got to play a game that had this much attention to detail but had entertaining gameplay to go with it since I like that about it, since as boring as I think RDR2 is, the one thing I could never call it is a game with poor presentation quality.
The funny part is that Blackwater Heist or Massacre as it was called in 1 wasn't canonically Dutch's Gangs doings before 2.
Why should they? Arthur in the grand scheme of things didn't really matter, he was just as important as Hosea was, and no one's mentioning him. John made peace with Arthur's sacrifice, there's no need to mention him after 12 years later.
>they need to remaster the game and keep everything the same but actually reference Arthur
>"Our time is passed, John. Just like our former associate Arthur Morgan, who died 12 years ago due to complications from tuberculosis!"
>3 is probably going to be another prequel with the golden age of the wild west, they had a one-liner for one gang member who was killed offscreen
I hope to god we get to scalp dirt worshipers

This game was so rushed and so many last-minute changes were made. I wish we'd get the full story one day but Rockstar might as well work in Area 51, they do a great job at keeping everything under wraps.
Shit, by 'this game' I mean RDR2. Don't really know about the development of the first.
>Like, there's so much autoaim I don't feel like I'm even playing the game
Turn it off then? There's like 100 accessibility options that can make the game harder for you.
