They need more comeback mechanics to simulate the back and forth of an actual wrestling match.

by giving MDickie an unlimited budget

To fix something first it must have been broken, and to be broken it should have worked in the first place, so the real question is: How do we make the first good wrestling game, which would be impossible, because wrestling is for retarded faggots

youtu.be/bbIqHFnbn-M hello

You'd have to fix wrestling first, its been shit for twenty years.

Just stop making them.

Just make it more like WWE. Like you have to fight and win but you gotta impress and woo the audience. Just going for quick knockout will bore them and theyll boo you off stage or give your oponents chairs to beat you down with. Also there needs to be tons of ways to customize your wrestler so you can make whatever cool or wacky wrestler you want, audiences will respond differently to you depending if you look cool or look funny. I think there are alot of untapped possibilities.

MANIK MINOR

Modern wrestling games try to be like modern sports games and that's bullshit. They try to simulate in-kayfabe matches which is tedious and boring outside of all the customization options; nobody actually cares about winning matches in the game, especially not against people online. Even the Sim aspects are weak; Fire Pro World is the only one with super in-depth CAW modes, but that's a 2D game with slightly stiff controls.

Wrestling games need to either go back to fast and arcadey gameplay as they were in the mid-late 90s (or WWE All-Stars for a more recent example) OR just give you an Out-of-Kayfabe game focused on a single-player Career mode where you make your way up in the business by getting over with crowds, hitting all your spots, negotiating contracts, interacting with people backstage, etc.

Wrestling Empire is the most entertaining wrestling game I have played in a long time.

Honestly, M. Dickie somehow tapped into the perfect balance of jank and fun to make a big retarded shitpost of a game, which is what wrestling always needed to be.

M. Dickie is unironically the most soulful dev of all time. The You Testament is pure ludokino

wrestling games got ruined once they stopped being arcadey and tried to be a sim. then the downward trend of wrestling led to less games being made. WWE used to get multiples games a year. There were japanese games being made. Now all we get is WWE's one game.

NO CHANCE!
NO CHANCE IN HELL!!!!

This is the only other wrestling game to go against WWE
>has an eight figure budget
>already in development hell
>headed by a guy who loves vidya but knows nothing about the development process
>same guy is being bullied by Yukes
>Yukes removed a fuckton story of content because the central character of Cody Rhodes left the company on bad terms and debuted at Wrestlemania only 2 months later
>sources say the name implies a live service model
>gameplay previews already look atrocious with shaky cam every time you hit a move, Wii shovelware graphics, and a man in the women's division
The genre's dead, just like wrestling.

Get worked, mark.

AEW is getting a game and brought in Yuke's to work on it, with Omega even convincing a guy who helped design No Mercy to work on it, but it's been said that Yuke's has kind of been shitheads about it and the game might not be what AEW wanted it to be. It's a shame, the thought was there but Yuke's of today is not the Yuke's of old when it comes to this kind of thing.

That said, Fire Pro Wrestling World exists if you can deal with the 2D visuals. It's got exceptional customization and a good amount of content plus some DLC modes/stories.

80s - early 2000s WWF were some prime tier years for wrestling kino

I miss everything being over the top.

WWE should make a pure legacy game for nostalgia bucks. Also I'm looking forward to WrestleQuest.

>its been shit for twenty years
Saying this is like saying vidya's been shit for 20 years. The stuff you've been looking went to shit and you didn't bother looking elsewhere.
