I'm gonna give this game a chance. I trust Habu and I really liked Next Order. If the game sucks I dont need to care about Digimon anymore.

Plus it FINALLY gives Syakomon a main cast role which is something I've wanted since childhood

I've set aside like 200 bucks so I can get several copies of the game. I hate myself for it though because I don't want this faggy vn shit. I want mext order and redigitize on more other platforms. I want more vpet sims but that's not what I'll get because Bandai hates me and supporting this game automatically means I want more of a shitty slow srpg with no dub and supporting a brain dead fan base

Agumon is only the mascot because of his popularity in Digimon Adventures 01. The Digimon on the box of the original pets was typically Tyranomon. You can also tell it's adventure pandering because all of the kids are partnered up with a rookie digimon still, which is implying from the visuals that it will be the cartoon rules that the digimon will regress to Rookie stage once they're done fighting.

The actual act of pandering itself is not bad. What makes it bad is when people call you out for pandering, because that means that you went overboard at some point, making the references feel insincere, like they are intentionally trying to poke your nostalgia factor to get money and/or adoration out of you instead of worrying about being its own legitimate product.

Then your argument is even weaker considering out of all the digimon on the cover, the only other one that appeared in Adventure was Floramon, and it wasn't even an important appearance.
