Yeah I feel like the game should have either let you have your own character or make progression more streamlined. It's a little too much.

I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to have your shit slapped down a few pegs. You have to put a lot of time into this game.

The game seems like it has potential even if it is extremely rough right now, but the devs have a track record of just abandoning games so who knows what this game's future is going to be like.

I think it's pretty enjoyable and I like the base building aspect to it. I just think it could use a good amount of work.

Call me when NPCs raid your base so you have a reason to give a shit about it, or anything else that can actually be considered "survival".

why would npcs need to raid your base when players can instead?

Castle is going great. Just grinding out schematics so I can get jewellery flooring and armour upgrades

On official server USC 4000 a guy broke into my base by following my newbie IRL friend into my base in rat form and went to my prison and stole my 100% worker. My buddy is in discord and is slowly realize what is happening, and his excuse is he thought that the skull player was an NPC servant of mine. I look at my friend's discord stream, and he's like "DUDE SOMEONE IS IN YOUR BASE". I'm like KILL HIM. It's too late, the guy has my charmed worker and is jumping off my teleportation pad onto the lower ground below. I am quite far from my base and just helplessly watching that stream. I got a chuckle out of it, actually. I was pissed, but I have another 100% Worker, so really I'm annoyed at my friend for not realizing the obvious.

I message the guy later and give him credit for being so stealthy and bold. Since he actually was a friendly in the early days of the server since he was New World clanmates with my ex-clanmate, he decides that I'm fair game now that my clanmate has left the server. He apologizes and offers to repay me. I tell him I want 20 scourge stones or to return the blood slave. He tells me my price is too steep. I then tell him how about let's duel, I'll take 15 scourge stone or the slave back if I win. If I lose, then you keep him.

He tells me to meet him at sundown and sends me a picture of his the map with his base marked. I arrive. He asks me to count it down and we start the duel. I land almost every shot, and he misses nearly everything. He panic/desperation ults with the jump down freeze ult, I use hearstrike to dash through him and avoid the stun and he's hit with mine. He's low and surely will die, and he exclaims, "SURPRISE ASSASINATION ATTEMPT". His allies come out of rat form and start going in on me. I immediately start creating space and running, but before completely disengaging

Because players raiding your base means it's guaranteed to go down as they'll spam explosives and out-number you. That isn't "survival", that's just whether you like being griefed. PvP in this game is only good when it's fair, in the open, and in equal numbers. That literally never happens in base raids
A game isn't survival just because it has PvP. Right now there is literally zero (0) reason to give a fuck about your base outside of wanting the bonus speed to crafting from a completed room or to not need to use bones for mist. Adding PvP to that just means people create airlocks and call it a day

Because vampires fighting vampires is cool, but it is truly disappointing that no band of villagers with torches and pitchforks will attempt to storm my castle.

But whatever. I'm not buying until castles can be multiple stories. The hell kinda vampire castle only has 1 story.
