It would be a failure because gamers don't really care about Disney. Even in Kingdom Hearts fans see Disney as filler to tolerate to see the next organization, Xehanort, or Master of Masters cut scene. Would not be worth it to make such a game.
No one in the gaming industry cares about Disney characters and Disney characters are lame inoffensive trite. If they have merit it's long since expired. Even the stupid little girls who grew up on Elsa are figuring out they are not privileged rich princesses who can do whatever they like in life, reality fucking sucks. Disney characters are mostly moveset LACKING. Because Disney's animated characters are very family friendly the idea of action and combat is far removed from anything. Very few characters legit have capabilities for combat. As such a Disney Smash game would be trash.
And don't bother saying Mirror Verse that trash the point is it's NOT the actual Disney characters, but alternate universe versions of them.
