I am expecting Shez to be a bit tragic and someone who fucked with time to steal Byleth's "place" at the academy. I also expect them to be revealed as a villain/enemy partway through and then ultimately join up with the heroes towards the apex of the story and die nobly to try and either fix what they've broken or to try and save us from the real/greater threat.

I do not expect to like them a ton since characterization will be minimal in this game, but I doubt I'll hate them. Mild annoyance at worst, mildly endearing at best.
