In the console space, scotformers flooded the store shelves.
Fortunately, at the end of the 90s, pellet-mazes and stroll-and-blows had a renaissance. It was an action-packed time for gaming.

Jan 01 - Jan 09: KH I&II, Persona 3 & 4, Pokemon Gens 3 & 4, God of War 1 & 2, God Hand, Mass Effect, Halo 1-3. MGS 3 & 4, Wii Sports... etc.
Hell you even get some early next gen games like the original Uncharted.
