Comfy Steam Deck and UMPC thread

What are we playing today, lads?

you can't play vita carts or dc discs on a steam deck, retard

I'm looking for a comfy porn game that runs well on deck

How is the d-pad on this thing? Both the feel of the d-pad itself and the ergos of the position.

Are they ever going to ramp up manufacturing speed?

I've been playing AI the Sominum Files on my Aya Neo Next ahead of the sequel.

I think they have but there is just that much demand

you can't have comfy thread if no one owns it. Now fuck off and never come back

I don't want it enough to preorder it 1 year in advance but id pick it up as an impulse buy, everything i want is either perpetually out of stock or massively over priced, sucks.

For some reason Flycast just won't play any of my Dreamcast games. I think it is because of the roms I have. They're just zip files verified through redump.

I wish Redream and Ryujinx had better support for the deck. I'm sure they will in time.

If you pre-order now you get yours in quarter 3, it's not a year wait.

Can the display of the deck properly display 4:3 for old emulated games? I keep looking at like PS1 and thinking it's a bit wider than normal even at 4:3.

Pretty sure it'd be "After Q3" which is Q4 at the earliest. Although yeah, the year meme is mostly because most people who ordered in June 2021 are getting theirs summer 2022, but that's largely because the device itself didn't even release until March 2022. Or I guess Feb 25, technically.

yup.

The Bureau and Spyro

dope I will trust it then

Haunting Ground through PCSX2 looks a bit smooshed though... more than other PS2 games. I wonder what can be done to fix that.

Try turning on integer scaling in the goyscope menu or w/e. Also if you're using Emudeck, it'll try to force 16:9 in a lot of the emulator settings by default.

Played a bit of Metallic Child and Sonic Mania while sitting outside waiting for my bonsai to dry in the sun.

sounds based m8. One of these days I'm gonna nab Metallic Child.

how can i buy one?

I am using emudeck but went back into the application through desktop mode and made it run at 4:3. But I wonder if emudeck is doing even more to override things? I will check out the interger scaling but... I can't interpret goyscope, what's that supposed to refer to?

I always wanted a real PC but I ended up reserving this instead
am I retarded?

I have been playing FFXII on it, looks and plays great on Steam, with the obvious problem that it is FFXII.

why do you think you might be retarded?

not retarded at all, its the worst time to be buying an actual PC, prices are still normalising and will take years to go below the inflated MSRP we have now.

Sorry I'm an insufferable memester, I was referring to gamescope. Actually, I don't even know if this is part of Gamescope or not. It doesn't do anything in certain emulators frontends like Retroarch, though.

right on thanks

because I'm computer illiterate and I'm really worried about Linux and the hardware itself since I always wanted a desktop that was really powerful
plus I bought the most expensive version

it was retarded to buy the most expensive version since the SD is fast enough for gaming. Just get the middle tier and save for a couple years if you need a real PC.

nice deck adam

you don't need to touch linux stuff at all to play steam games on this. if you want to do emulation stuff, you do have to go into desktop mode but you never need to run any commands. i know a lot about windows but nothing about linux and have had a pretty good time with this thing.

I hope you weren't looking forward to installing Windows on it
