+cats was the wrong direction to take the franchise, they took dev time to add cats, cats didn't do much and nothing advanced forward because of it.
They could've just gave the puppies optional age progression so you could have your dog grow in real time. That'd be way better than cats that don't really add anything to the game and honestly felt tacked on as a gimmick.
