It's weird that Leon knows who Wesker is and that Wesker has this whole paramilitary organization chasing down BOWs and has associates in other pharmaceutical companies, and was savvy enough to immediately associate Ada resurfacing in Spain with it, but otherwise the two have never crossed paths; RE4 is the closest Wesker has ever gotten to Leon's plotlines.

Pre RE5 Wesker was the best Wesker, both by voice and design. RE5 turned him into a animalistic raging lunatic, but before RE5 I've never seen Wesker get pissed off. The whole persona of his was to be calm and chill and oversmart everyone while chilling. Many praise D.C. Douglas as the best Wesker, but I think Peter Jessop from RE:Remake portrayed him the best, as the voice to be heard was the voice of Wesker.

What happened to the REmake VAs?

What a chore for NG+, never understood why they could not let you skip it somehow after the first time.

I am glad they were able to let it go, submerged in lava and with a rocket in his face.
If he survives that, then is not credible anymore, nothing is sacred, no death believable.

I mean, they can still pull the Darth Vader type of death. The last you see him, he's up to his shounders in lava, next frame you see him disappear. They can still pull the "return from the death" card, but I feel it would be like beating a dead horse.

But It's a shame no villain got even close to him in the last 14 years of Resident Evil.

The Jessop guy voiced the Paladin Danse in Fallout 4, I couldn't figure out where I heard his voice from until I googled it, and it's Wesker.

Let it go he is dead, speaking of dead I don't know what was with the Red Queen, Wesker acting like he was on a personal vendetta with her when it was just a computer who happened to have some basic audio video interaction.

I don't know about villains but I hope that RE9 goes from house to village to city, I'd love for a more hostile environment that progressively changes, what is the point of all this new tech if is just for graphics.

>shoot him with the rocket launcher in the stairs
>he will stop the rocket
>shoot the rocket
>?????

Man, why was a light gun shooter allowed to be so Kino?

My 5, Wesker. It's all I can give you.

this game is so beautiful
it looks better than most games today

I disagree completely, I think Wesker works best as an untethered madman. In the original RE1, encountering Wesker in the lab feels like we get to see the real Wesker: a hateful insane man with a crazy and an unstable ego. The shows this by saying things like "all weak people exist to be eaten", or Chris correctly deducing that Wesker views Tyrant as something of a messianic figure, or when Wesker famously becomes distraught at Chris laughing at him.
I felt that RE5 was like a return to form of sorts to how he was originally characterized and that's why I like him much more in that game than in RE4 or UC.

Yeah, it's only really when he's more of a background cameo/fanservice character that you get that really cool collected kind of impression. He's seething at Chris in every game they're in.

For me, it's Richard Waugh.

Yeah, I also feel that Wesker being this hidden lunatic who rose through the ranks of Umbrella when he was younger helps create an interesting message to be gleamed from the original RE1's story. That when an organization with no regard for morals or ethics is allowed to operate unrestrained, like Umbrella was due to the complicity of the US gov, then it allows a truly evil man like Wesker to slip through the cracks and end up causing a lot of damage to the world.
Unfortunately the Wesker children retcon really muddies all this up since Wesker would have been groomed since birth by Spencer.

I can't wait for the netflix Wesker to quote this, i will clap so hard.

makes sense. and the series' world and tone changed so much over the years that you kinda just have to take the storytelling and themes of the early entries as a separate thing from the later additions to analyze them imo
