How many of its games legitimately hold up in 2022?
How many of its games legitimately hold up in 2022?
5% and that's being generous.
I dunno, go and try or read it from the ultimate nintendo guide to the nes library by pat cantry the famous nes punk
Top 25 are legit classics.
Mostly just the 2d platformers and maybe Zelda 1 if you don't mind a bit of janky combat.
just the mega mans
Any game that's easy enough for zoomers to save state through.
>holding up in 2022
most games were already shit back then.
Yeah, the ones that hold up are still really good. I still replay Zelda, Mario, and Castlevania every few years. It's just that the other 700+ don't.
Graphically it doesn’t match to the arcade port but its great couch co op fun. You guys DO have friends to play with right?
I grew up with the NES and loved it, but in the present day I find that the chiptune music causes a ringing sensation that hurts my ears and gives me headaches. I can't play the games for very long unless I mute them or turn the volume down to almost nothing. Anyone else experience this? Is it because I'm old now?
Quite a few, but they play fundamentally different than 2D modern games and take an adjustment period
Some games that are really great and hold up very well today:
>Super Mario Bros 1
>Super Mario Bros Lost Levels (aka the real 2)
>Super Mario Bros 3
>Ninja Gaiden 1
>Ninja Gaiden 2
>Ninja Gaiden 3
>Castlevania 1
>Castlevania 2 Simon's Redaction (romhack)
>Castlevania 3
>Punch-Out
>Contra
>Super C
>Kirby's Adventure
>Tetris
>Battletoads
I really don't think the Mega Man games are good or hold up at all, but play 3 or 4 if you only play a single one.
Holy hell me and my brother played this game to death.
Star Tropics is really good
>romhack
The time when konami still made good games
Simon's Quest is much harder/worse due to the shitty translation.
My friend showed it to me and I fell in love instantly. Wish they still made games that were good arcadey fun now
There's quite a few, but at this point, you probably need to look at famicom games as well to find one you didn't played yet.
>The time when konami still made games
I was going to say duck hunt, but even that one is fucked because I'd want to do it big screen zero compromises, which means no tube tv thus no duck cunt. So nothing, NES has no games.
