So does a modern high end PC just crush PS3 with brute force? What is possible here? Are some games so demanding that even high end PCs may struggle to run them at higher than original hardware settings or is it 4k across the board already? And how about accuracy and compatiblity? Is the entire catalog playable?

60% playable.
Not brute force, a large part is instruction translation.
It's surprisingly accurate, though when it isn't it's really inaccurate, see 60%.
4K upscaling is generally fine if the game isn't stuck on the CPU emulation compatibility.

I'm just emulating God of War 3 and I have a retarded bug where my R1 spazzes out sometimes. As if the game thinks I'm letting go and repressing the button every few frames. I have the game capped at 60fps and running at 1080p (100% scaling). I got funny flashes when I ran it at 720p and 150% scaling.

I also forgot how fun this was. Under 2 hours in and I had already killed two gods and I got a bow + new blades. Meanwhile in Cuck of War 2018 after 2 hours I'm just pushing up on the left stick while I ride a boat with my wife's son and I won't see a new weapon for a long time.

Oh and play Spyro Dawn of the Dragon too, it's great on PS3.
