It was the summer of 2006 and I was running through stonetalon mountain where all the goblin guys are and the two shredders and the one cave, when some guy asked me my age. I lied saying I was 19, he said his name was Yamamoto or something. I don't remember much else.

I know you guys loved my last breattaking story but I just remembered and even earlier one. It was sometime in 2002 and I was playing Battlefield 1942 online for the first time. I joined a game and kept getting spawn killed. I looked in the chat and someone kept talking about "bomberman". Didn't know what that was but they wouldn't shut the fuck up about it. I ended up just alt-f4ing because I was embarrassed I was getting spawn camped. I never touched online games again until World of Warcraft was introduced to me by a friend.

dunno

It was either Diablo 2 or Starcraft. Memory is pretty fuzzy, but I remember meeting this goth-type guy and played with him all the time. He loved doom music and called himself the Stalinator. Late 90s or early 2000s.

I think the 1st online game I have played was the multiplayer to Crysis 2, which I played a boatload of (Lighthouse best map), where I met a dude from the same country in chat, we ended up playing together a lot and even started a clan. Good dude.

AoE 2 online around 2000
Memory makes me cringe because I acted faggy towards people

Playing direct connect sc with my pal. Telling my mum not to pick up the phone when it rings but her doing it everytime.

Not sure if it counts as online, but there was a local BBS somewhere in my hometown, and it also had a Doom server. So it blew my mind when my Dad hooked up to it, and he was running around in Doom with like four other people. "THESE ARE ACTUAL PEOPLE OH MY GOD." Then he let me play and it was amazing just for that novelty alone.

This was a few years before the Internet became a thing in my city.

dreamcast quake 3 against PC players they were gods and were really nice ppl who took pity on me lol

December 2006 - Gears of War 1 online. I was two piecing motherfuckers with the boltoc pistol as the Theron guard. One melee and a perfectly timed shot always resulted in a headshot. During the end of the round teams could openly talk to one another, I'll always remember one guy on the other team "We need to stop user from getting that fucking pistol all the time".

Next match all of them were where the pistol spawned. They took me out pretty quick, but it was amusing that I pissed them off that much to make them do that.

You still are a fag

mid-late 90s Church school, watching older kids play a version of Pacman on the computer
Much later but I feel like mentioning, I watched some dentist's kids play that 1942 plane game on a console

>playing BF1942 with my friends late on a school night
>some random dude named Omi joined the server and keeps chatting in very broken English
>Guadalcanal
>trying to land the Corsair to reload
>land directly on top of him while he's attempting to take off
>everyone explodes and dies
>Omi: "aww men"

Late 90s - early 2000s must have been like four at the time. I was watching my sister play Wonder Boy on an old Sega Master system 2. I was watching her jumping over the rocks and she misses the jump on one of them injuring the character. I remember laughing about it and asking if I could try the game. I'd spent some time purposefully stubbing his toes on the rocks and laughing about it.

didn't read that part; It's probably RYL or Entropia or something

Partly on topic, but I remember cranking it to female NPCs from AQW in like 2009.

Before voip was a common thing, I remember sitting on the phone with my friend and scamming people on habbo hotel.

Tale of Pirates
Gorgeous music and graphics. I'm 10 y.o and my character is some anime bozo with flaming red haircut. And Im helping some 20ish years old woman (who is my teacher through mentor system) from the Caucasus arrange her marriage ingame while she tells me that goatfuckers from the Caucasus is not a meme and it's real and men actually fuck goats at night sometimes (not like it's ok and everyone but it's very much true).
This game was actually good and pleasant to play.

>Starts trash talking at the end of the match
>Its some older sounding guy

Him:
> "Holy shit get a life loser! What do you just play videogames all day?"
12 yr old me:
