I never understood why people complain about the fart, its like saying complaining when Shrek does something gross. If anything it lets Wario break free from Mario's modern squeeky clean games. Wario was always supposed to be a crude mockery of Mario, he's just as brave and even heroic at times , but he's also just way more crude doing things Mario would never do, rather it be shoulder bashing things with muscle, or killing someone with a fart and flying around with it
