I remember that swat 4 exists and how I wanted to play It as a kid

>I remember that swat 4 exists and how I wanted to play It as a kid
>I buy a physical copy online
> Copy finnaly arrives but It doesn't work
> Every time I try to open the dvd or the set-up it ejects and gets added again in windows
>Same problem appears when I run the set-up
>dvd is clean and smooth, I ve seen dvds in better condition working so not the dvd.
>dvd drive reads the dvd but I don't know why It gets ejected, I tested other games and the drive worked.
Any tips from swat modding veterans or anons with physical copies?

You could have just pirated the gog version.

I know, I just though that It would be cool to own the copy of the game since I like It, but I still do not understand what triggers the eject.

Use a wedge to keep it closed.

It's not physical eject it's windows eject. Like the type where you eject it from options in windows before also physycally ejecting it too. Nothing gets pulled outside the dvd drive, only in windows.

Sometimes old games just don't fucking work and it's more of a bother to fix them than admire them on your shelf. Just get the GOG version which is already patched and has the expansion.

You own the copy, congrats. Now do the sane thing and download the working game and play it.

Ye I know but It seems like I am the first one that got this problem and talks about It online. If I got the game I might as well try to find a solution.

Could be an issue with Windows 10 maybe. I had the same copy like 10 years ago and it ran fine on 7.

try copying the entire contents of the disk and running the installer from your hard drive

I saw people talking about win 7 working fine too. There is no other way besides making some legacy experiments or asking microsoft for some help if possible.

If this is an original old-school disk it means it has securom protection. Win10 doesn't like that garbage. pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/SecuROM

dvd drive gets ejected before I can do that.

Sounds like it's trying to mount but windoze has other ideas. Try opening the disk as an iso.

Coincidence or not after some deep search this is one of the possible conclusions I came up to.
I also found this weird shit

I'm surprised this nigger drm still has a site running. Now we have to deal with its offspring which is an even bigger nigger, denuvo.

Yes. One more reason why drm sucks dick. Idk if that tool truly does help against the drm problem I am not installing that shit.

Has Denuvo prevented one single game from being cracked to date?

Uh, handball 17 I think?

They did slow down games significantly when they are used but that it has more to do with the scene's big heads leaving and empress being a nigger.

Empress knows s'he got everyone by the balls and is milking the situation, and it will continue until s'he gets jailed or some other scene group comes out and ends the denuvo reign.

So no.
Even for games I paid for I download the cracks and seed the fuck out of everything.
Denuvo is dying now anyway.

What brand or model is the drive?
I know you say it's only happening with Swat4 not other games or dvds but there's a lot of tech support stuff online for external dvd drives disconnecting when a disc is inserted. Even though it's being picky right now it's possible that the drive is the problem. I would look for those solutions first.

I feel like a retard for buying a physical copy. Unless I use a vm (the easiest way to do It) win 10 won't let me install It. Serves me right for not researching prior.

>buying physical games
wtf am I back in 1995 or something

>Denuvo is dying now anyway
Not exactly, Warhammer 3 still hasn't been cracked and that was released in February. Also more recently WH40K Chaosgate also hasn't been cracked obviously. Denuvo works sadly, its keeping piracy at bay for a few months and is making the subscribers of this trash happy.

Try making an image of the disk using disk imaging software and then mounting the disk image and running the installer from that

some samsung SE-S084d external dvd write. I am 85% sure it has nothing to do with the drive but the drm.

>Denuvo delays free releases
>torrent other games while waiting
>because they cost nothing because torrenting
And let's be real, all modern releases are paid betas for the first year. Just like the devs!

>Get GOG drmfree pirate copy
>Open your fancy box you paid real money for
>Mail in the register your product! sliver of paper from 2005 into the address given
>Pretend it reaches someone
Now you can feel like a law abiding citizen

Sure but it doesn't mean denuvo is going away any time soon.

Who cares? It's inconsequential, that's my point
