Why are some people so creeped out by empty videogame maps?
Why are some people so creeped out by empty videogame maps?
OH GOD, AN EMPTY ROOM, NIGGERMAN SAVE ME!
they're surrounded by people 24/7, even in their homes, so playing a game where you're alone for a period of time feels uncomfortable to them
They're social butterflies, and can't stand liminal spaces.
Isolation,,,it's a type of phycological horror
AM NAH SCARE
I DON'T CARE BITCH AM NO SCARE BITCH
NO SCARE BITCH
It's just a fad.
Probably amplified by Discord or Reddit groups that behave like cults and amplify the meaning of anything. In this case, a slight feeling of loneliness becomes a psychological terror.
Five years from now people will remember liminal spaces and have a hard enough time understanding why people were treating it as creepy.
>DUDE DISCORD
>DUDE REDDIT
meds, now!
I forgot to mention Youtube as well.
>He didn't enter the right door first
You don't know what liminal means
I hope that it's just all mockery and irony. No one is actually that scared.
when Stanley opened Any Forums, he enter the thread about video games
Stanley knew this thread was not about video games, but he entered it anyway.
Perhaps he wanted to report the OP before moving on.
It's a Source Engine thing.
>XD I'm so tough and I'm always in an empty so I'm not scared!
Why is it called "liminal space"? I mean, if it's a space, it's not liminal. It's like "transitory destination" or "dense emptiness"
Is this your place? Nice, looks clean and practical
Liminal means threshold. A liminal space is a space between destinations. Like a hallway.
Low-effort asset-flip horror games full of loud jumpscares condition the dumb children who play them to be afraid of empty rooms
Ive had nightmares of places like these.
Stalls with angry people om the other side. Filthy stalls with no doors and over flow. Could never find a clean one.
Also had a nightmare about a toilet that was in love with me.
I need therapy.
I thought people acted scared or creeped out by it only ironically
Because zoomers have spent their entire lives staring at screens full of advertisements and pretty flashing lights. They cannot comprehend the idea of solitude in any form.
I know that. But the concept of "liminal" means between two spaces. A space between two spaces is not liminal, because it is a space itself. The "liminality" is about not being anywhere in particular, which extends its use to the abstract plane. The phrase "liminal space" is nothing more than a buzzword, as the original meaning of the terms doesn't make sense together.
I recommend you play "toilet in wonderland"
>it's just not scary dude!
No, it just has to be a threshold space. Like how a hallway is the threshold between multiple rooms. It doesn't matter that the hallway is sort of a room of its own. The point is that it's transitional. The hallway isn't your destination.
imagine the echoes of your braps
This must be the bathroom from my nightmares where I need to pee, but I can't find a toilet. Then I find this bathroom and all the toilets are in plain view.
