started with bf2 but i play bf4 only now

none of those games are good or else they would have active communities for at least one or two of them instead of screaming that battlefield is dead because the newest one was a flop

I remember reading the GameSpot review for 1942 and having a tobruk demo. Honestly never had more fun in battlefield than bots on Tobruk whilst playing green day music when I was 11. Maybe battle of Britain servers later on in 1942.

BF3 is the only one I properly played but I dropped it the moment they announced that BF premium bullshit

Technically greatest generation but I was like 10 and broke so I played the MP demo map a thousand times

BFV and BF2 and BF2142 should be the same generation, they had the same graphics and mechanics and everything and BFV came out just before BF2, and BF2142 came out just after BF2.. BFV was like a pre-spinoff to BF2 while BF2 was in the pipeline, and BF2142 was like a BF2 spinoff after BF2 came out.
BFV was the big leap ahead of BF1942.
