Pressing jump in mid air fire a grapple at where your cursor is aiming, this pulls spy in that direction but with a bit of lift (like widowmaker's grapple from overwatch) so spy can use it to get onto higher ledges.

There is nothing more retarded about tf2's balance than how a number of classes in the game that just shut out spy entirely by jumping onto an inaccessible ledge. Especially since this includes the engineer and his buildings, for whom spy is meant to be a major counter.

Also give the sapper a secondary function of a powerful EMP discharge. If enough sentries are built at once, spy can fire an EMP off that saps everything in the area. Sentry spam needs a better counter and spy is the best candidate for that.

Let him set traps.

Improve his disguises, and fix the bugs associated with them, now. Also, give him more niche items. the greatest threat of spy is that he could be anywhere at any time, but what keeps him in check is that he's actually underpowered when he's identified, so give him more diverse tools so he could theoretically do more things, but limit him to only a few with any given loadout.

problem is sniperfags change the decloak audio to something that is much easier to hear in community servers so there is no counterplay to snipers as a spy

if we're going to consider cheating we might as well remove sniper outright

Audio mods isn't even considered cheating though. The game is designed with attitude that if sv_pure is 0 then those things are allowed.

it's not technically cheating since it's like changing hitsounds, but more like an abusing of server settings

sniper (and to a lesser extent medic) melee crits are a middle finger to everyone

Sniper should not be that strong at close range

spies have to wait for a distraction, things like pretending to shoot gun won't work

this is the only thing that can fix spy
it doesn't have to be a huge buff, removing the random spread would be enough, a little increase of its damage won't hurt too
