Are guns the most brain dead and repetitive mechanic in modern vidya?
Shoot bullet
>t. doesn't watch his flank
If you slap in different ammo types, attachments, inventory management for magazines and ammo, different effects and damage on enemies depending on what caliber you use or hit what spot and ballistics (wind, penetration, ricochet, arc and etc) not so much but only a few vidyas do this to that full extent like Escape From Tarkov, ARMA, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and etc the better known examples.
>9mm pistol deals less damage than 5.56 rifle
When devs dont know how weapons work
I liked Reciever 2 because it made guns feel more like a complex mechanical device, as opposed to a magic shooty rod. Gun reloading should be way more complex to compensate for their power + how easy they are to aim + fire.

are platformers the most braindead genre in modern vidya?
What if we combine the two?

I think we've got a winner on our hands here.
yes.
there's nothing impressive about shooting a guy before he could shoot you.
What if you could jump OR shoot in a given situation? Imagine the possibilities!
>Add 1 mm to the caliber of a bullet
>Suddenly 10mm makes things x5 better than 9 mm, you can even stop bears, a thing that 9mm would never do
Seriously what devs were thinking?
This needs a nerf, it's only a fucking millimeter
Yes it is pretty dumb how every game uses guns. I'm not anti gun in game or IRL, but just kinda weird how the default weapon and way of dealing with enemies is guns and murder. Almost makes you think...
azure striker gunvolt 2 did this with copen
If it was "braindead" then every game would get them right. 90% of games have obvious noguns developers.
Why mess with something that is very effective? It's kept humanity going for around 500 years. Longer if you count cannons.
Kinetic energy is nice.
Why don't you use a little more brain and produce some kind of opinion? Maybe you'll make a point and it will be worth reading. Someone might even agree.
