I've never seena series go off the rails as quickly or as effectively as Megaman. that's what happens when you inject 90's XTRME marketing into the series and then let 3rd party coomers take over for most of the 2000s.

Zero and ZX I wouldn't call 'coomer' beyond the fact that it had notable females that fans hungry for anything latched onto. Otherwise the series should have ended with X5, and failing that at least Zero 4. But For a series that only sold ~800k a game on average Capcom still pumped them out en mass just because it was the next best thing they had till Monster Hunter Tri came out and sold over 3mil, outbeating every single Megaman game ever made to date. From there at last, the writing was on the wall, and they started pulling the plug on it, too bad it was far too late, and even after so many years 11 only sold like 1.4mil, not even half of Tri's 'partly' numbers at the time, and now World's surpassed 20mil, and Rise is on towards 10mil, Capcom has zero reason to ever revisit the blue bomber and lets China fuck with it using X DiVE as a result.
