What's the most immersed you've ever been in a game?

rdr2 and metro exodus, metro is basically the countryside where I live at winter

playing games on drugs

Just go outside, nerds

Will skyrim ever be surpassed? The open world RPG genre hasn't evolved at all since this game.

I tried playing on shrooms, but I just spent 30 minutes admiring the screen textures

in my case it's the danganronpa games
the music and setting just get me in an immersive sort of mood

Modded Arma
It's pure immersion until the framerate drops or a bug hits

yeah you need low doses for psychedelics or you'll fuck off with the fairies, or just some good weed

RE7VR
RE2Make
Most RE games really
Outer Wilds
STALKER
Subnautica
SOMA

I didn't feel very immersed when I played Slyrim and saw half the game's enemies wear sleeveless armors despite the arctic setting, that's for sure.

banished

it devolved with it

The Outer Worlds with its dialog choices and silent protagonist.

Slyrim? Skyrim!

The firefights in Half Life Alyx are incredible
Shame they're only like 10% of the game and the rest is shitty line puzzles

RDR2
although when I was younger it was likely WoW, followed by Oblivion
WoW was my first taste of a giant open world and it felt like pure magic, the colors, music, atmosphere and how big it all felt, nothing else like it
Oblivion was more of the same but it really pulled me in and the world felt so much more interactive and alive, and at the time the graphics were really impressive, whole game had such a nice atmosphere
RDR2 was ridiculously immersive with how detailed it was, the world felt more real than anything I'd played before, couldn't stop playing it

It was surpassed 10 years earlier by it's predecessor

Probably when tryharding cs while baked as a teen. I was completely zoned out for hours.

stalker

Showed my friends MH Iceborne on 4 stems and a cap and it was one of the most intensely hype experience I've ever had. Everyone was yelling and cheering as I'm just exploring Coral Highlands killing random monsters.

Marathonned the Ace Attorney DS trilogy in one and half days with no sleep. It was awesome. What's more is I was using an emulator and couldn't figure out how to make it save so Godot's "full penalty" at the very end was the most intense thing I've ever experienced in a video game.

Yes, that is the experience you're after. Personally I spent an hour admiring the depths of a 3-second audio loop.
