I don't know anything about this other than it has Nazis who can destroy the multiverse 1 gorillion times over.

It's the best VN ever made. Must read if you're into chuuni stuff

That sounds about right

Tallest midget. There are better uses of your time.

Aren't the devs bankrupt?

Ah yes I should be playing the latest fromshit game instead or read the latest wanpiss chapter haha right !! XDDDD

Is it more chuuni than Umineko you think?

Umineko is not chuuni at all though? Only like 1%

You know how Fate/Stay Night has like a million 30 minute sections where nothing of substance happens and all they do is fuck around at their home?

Dies Irae is basically Fate/Stay Night but with those filler sections cut out and the "badass factor" turned up to 11.

Not him, but I'm convinced. Anywhere I should look for it? Also, what version should I try to find? I'm not about to drop $40 on a VN, so the Steam one is out.

F95Zone has it:
f95zone.to/threads/dies-irae-dx-light.7310/

The game comes with two versions.
Acta est Fabula has h-scenes.
Amantes Amentes has additional content (that are not h-scenes).
I'd just read AA, since the porn is not very good and something that was added later on in the game's life cycle.

You can find a reading order guide here:
forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/18003-dies-irae-all-versions/
The most relevant part is this:
>Common (Chapters 1-6) –> Kasumi –> Kei –> Marie –> Rea (End 1>End 2).
>~Amantes Amentes~ (Full story content) –> ~Act Est Fabula~ (Extra H-scenes). You can also do the opposite if you're interested in the Ero-scenes.

When selecting a new game, you can either choose a character (you are locked into her route) or press on "New Game" to dynamically gather points in dialogue that locks you into one of the characters.

Fate is garbage, DI is not. That's the biggest difference.

If you want to play on Steam for whatever reason then there's a workaround:
1. Play the steam one until it asks you to buy the DLC
2. Save, open the pirated version and continue from there nyaa.si/view/932754 (you'll find your saves there)
3. Play for a while and save (prob 30 minutes at least)
4. Reopen the Steam one and continue from your save, if it crashes then you need to play further

That's what I did and it works. Though I did buy the game afterwards because I liked it and I always support works I like.

I didn't realize F95 would have it. I'll go with AA then. So I should probably stick to picking routes beforehand instead of the dynamic option? I could see myself fucking something up and doing one of the routes I'm supposed to do later first. Also, that post mentions "Wehrwolf" and a couple other things. Are those the extra stories they mentioned, or are they something else?
I might get the Steam one for a replay at some point in the future if I end up liking it. I don't particularly care about playing it on Steam though.

Why?

cuz kino

>So I should probably stick to picking routes beforehand instead of the dynamic option?
I haven't tried it honestly I just followed a guide but I think it's a better option if you don't wanna bother with guides.
A lot of people recommend Kasumi > Kei > Marie > Rea but personally I think Kei's route barely adds anything to the story unless you're interested in Kei and Beatrice and their past.
So read Kasumi's and if you like Kei (i didnt) then read her route but if not then you probably shouldn't waste your time. Can't explain why since I'd be spoiling.
>Are those the extra stories they mentioned, or are they something else?
They're side stories that unlock each time you finish a route. It is recommended to read them before advancing to the next route.

>Dies Irae is basically Fate/Stay Night but with those filler sections cut out

Lying fucking nigger.

i'm not reading any more VNs until i'm confident in my level of japanese.

I thought this was a visual novel?
