Yfw Blackout happens in the middle of gaming
>tfw you were playing your switch when said blackout happens
>mfw blackout happens in the middle of gaming but I saved 2 minutes ago and all my valuable electronics are plugged into surge protectors
Seen too many friends lose expensive electronics from a sudden power outage or thunderstorm. Anything else one should do to prevent getting fried?
>tfw mom gets BLACKED in the middle of gaming
I have a surge protector and I still shut my PC off during really awful storms cuz I'm afraid it'll get fucked.
get an electrician to check your fuses every 6 months. Claim "fire safety" if you need to convince people to let it happen.
literally lost 5-6 hours of progression at least on the Sunday after Elden Ring was released because the power going out reset the game back to when I had started that afternoon
I have surge protection, but still unplug all my electronics.
>Wake up after blacking out
>Hands are bloody
>There's a knife in the garbage bin
>No injuries on self or anyone else to be seen in the house
I just want to play my vidya
Thank god sonic 3 has autosaves
Get ready for more. 2026 is really gonna amp this shit up. If you don't have a way to get solar power for yourself I'd start investing into it sooner rather than later.
>Get ready for more.
Don’t live in Texas, I’m good.
>gaming laptop
I got a few minutes to save progress.
>minutes
How poor is the battery wtf
>He doesn't have his gaming PC plugged into a backup power supply
Brainlet.
This happened to me right at the end of Great Bays dungeon in Majora's Mask and I put the game down for ten years when I realized I had to redo the entire egg quest
I do, it’s really as bad as they say. If it becomes overcast and slightly windy we get power fluctuations. And I live in Houston not some BFE bullshit.
im moving soon and I can’t fucking wait to get out of this shithole
My internet connection was out for 7 hours today.
?
Time to buy a UPS.
>blackout happens in the middle of a bios flash
That is not that bad and its easy to recover, a USB flasher with clamps is around $10.
Grab flash file from motherboard site.
Load it on the flasher program.
"Flash and verify".
Wait 5 minutes.
Done.
>continue to play on laptop
>once battery runs out (at least after two hours) switch to DS and pray for power to be back by then
