This is why you don't listen to shmups boomers, they will tell you to play trash like Dodonpachi and Ketsui
Just play Crimzon Clover, Darius Gaiden, etc, there is a ton of shmups that actually have something to them other than "play 1000 hours autistically and route the entire game like a monkey"

I find Ketsui very enjoyable to play for some reason but I also can't get good at it.
Like I can barely reach stage 4 with one credit and am always losing lives with silly mistakes on the first three stages.
Compared to mushihime-sama who also feels good to play and with a small amount of practice you casually reach the true final boss on normal/hard difficulty with a single credit.

Agreed, except for two problems: shmups where you need to level up (Psyvariar, Radiant Silvergun) and shmups where you need to score to get enough lives to survive (Battle Garegga).
