Setting was better. Enlightenment was interesting as something different but would have served DLC or expansion better, Industrial steampunk setting was just shit and boring.
In addition it was an RPG, sure a shallow af and casual RPG, but still an RPG, following games were basically action-adventure.
TLC just had that special something, like a time capsule.

That was my initial reaction to it after watching my friend play it back in the day. And what convinced me, on top of Halo CE, to get an Xbox.

Superficial similarities, sure, but it drew me in. Only thing that disappointed me about Fable were the lack of dungeons and how short the game actually is. Even with TLC, it's incredibly short.
