Chrono Cross

Chrono cross isn't Chrono trigger but it's still one of the highest reviewed titles ever, yet the remaster is about to be overshadowed by Lego star wars remake. This game was the fucking shit back in the day

I don't care about either remake, but Lego Star Wars > Chrono Cross

Chrono Cross is an absolute masterpiece that only gets shit on by frothing midwits who are mad it's not Chrono Trigger 2

Yeah, to a bunch of PS-only noobs who had never played Trigger and had no idea how many stupid retcons it introduced.

I like CC, but Lego star wars ep 1-6 was also the only lego vidya I've found enjoyable enough to sit down and play to the collecitism finish.
As long as the new releases are good, let people enjoy both of them, user.

>yet the remaster is about to be overshadowed by Lego star wars remake
good
dont give enix money

SE's marketing is retarded. Half this board still thinks the music was replaced, when those tracks are from a separate album dropping.

>muh retcons
Damn Trigger fags really grasping at straws here
Did they retcon goku marrying bulma at the end or what?

cope and seethe.

based
trigger is a baby jrpg

fuck off retard

>Did they retcon goku marrying bulma at the end or what?
They turned Schala into a dumb blonde Aussie and killed off the playable cast off-screen.

nah, it's a mediocre RPG that rips off Suikoden's WOAH 323492494 characters WOOWZIE ZOWZIE but does it worse carried HARD by good background artists and Yasunori Mitsuda's soundtrack
Rightfully passed over and mostly forgotten unlike Trigger

I'm in the mood for some turnbased JRPGs, I heard this one has like 50 party members and an ability system much like the junctioning in FFVIII, hell yea boiii.

Kind of agree with this sentiment, they're a dogshit company as of late. I'm surprised the chrono cross remaster isn't Epic exclusive.

FF8 is twice the game this one is but if you haven't played it, hell, might as well. I'm going to too to see if it's really as bad as I remember.

>FF8 is twice the game this one is
I hope this is bait

I don't think anyone cares what a retard "hopes" for; sorry

can i play it if i never finished trigger? am retarded with low attention span so i dont beat a lot of rpgs but i like them

No I'm sorry, sorry you have to live your life with such shit opinions. May as well just off yourself now to save yourself from further suffering

I have a vacation coming up on the 9th. Already pre-ordered, I'll have it installed on the 8th, and I'll be playing this all next week. I love lego games, but fuck star wars. I'm not buying anything with the nu Disney shit in it.

I mean if you can't beat Trigger you're not going to beat this so I guess knock yourself out champ

are you channeling your mother's feelings toward you KEK

Multiple endings as well

I mean I tried playing trigger years ago, im less shit with them now and beat FFX and Digimon:SS recently. The story is unrelated right

Yeah it's technically not even a chrono game. They just slapped the name on it at the last second.

wow I guess too much copium does rot your brain

no, Chrono Cross retcons a bunch of shit and there's a segment of the game that is just "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED AFTER TRIGGER"
you really should go play Trigger first before this one

Yeah. It's literally a remake of radical dreamers on snes. It's not a sequel what so ever.

but he's right? Everyone knows Squall, he's in all kinds of other games, who the fuck is Serge? Nobody knows that retard, nor Lynx.
The game is a footnote in gaming that didn't accomplish much other than "this game has good soundtrack XD"

It's 108 stars of destiny pleb. Also a different company is making a new suikoden game, but I can't remember it because it's some nip name.

Everyone knows Squall because he's in a bigger title game you mong, Everyone and their dogs know final fantasy that doesn't make it a better game.

They will keep cashing in on that nostalgia to churn out trashfire like Forspoken.

Cross is shit simple as

>Eiyuden Chronicle

I never liked Cross.
>inb4 Trigger baby
Yeah. But I played Trigger waaaay later, after Cross. I don't remember much, to be honest, but I know you need to say
>there's no way to save Kid
so you can get one of the best characters in the game. And the whole idea about ''supercomputer that rules destiny'' was copied from Phantasy Star, but made way worse.

I will still play remaster, but I doubt I will change my mind (like I did with FF12 after playing Zodiac Age)

>Yeah, to a bunch of PS-only noobs who had never played Trigger
Are you kidding? The PS1 owners that were into JRPGs back in the day were already SNES owners, many of which most likely played Trigger (and even if they didn't, Trigger got a PS1 port anyway)

Kato was so assmad over the reception of Cross he said
>Cross is undoubtedly the highest quality Chrono that we can create right now. (I won't say the 'best' Chrono, but) If you can't accept that, then I'm sorry to say this but I guess your Chrono and my Chrono have taken totally different paths

and then spent the next 23 years walking that statement back and trying to erase it because even he knows Trigger is his legacy.

Sorry faggot; you can't undo reality and time IRL unlike in the game. It is what it is and no amount of you seething will change that.

I'm not kidding. The original release of CT only sold like 300,000 copies in NA. Its reputation has spent decades preceding its actual sales and popularity.

Going to have to agree with this user, Cross has a lot of interesting components but it's about as deep as Tinkerbell's training bra. The story is a hastily stitched together mess of macguffin fetching quests, and even if you like certain characters, nobody really stands out to carry the plot forward meaningfully.

>The PS1 owners that were into JRPGs back in the day were already SNES owners
no they weren't. FF7 was a giant fucking normie magnet that got a shit ton of people that never even heard of RPGs into playing them

Of the 40 or so characters in Chrono Cross, only a handful are actually useful. Most characters have bad stats and bad special moves. The game is pretty easy enough so using the shitty characters only slows down the pace of the game.
The biggest cockblock is that in order to recruit the best character after Serge, you have to deny yourself content. One part of the game is completely skipped if you want Glenn.
The second half of the game starts throwing you a bunch of characters but there's no reason to not use Fargo or Karsh. Late game I replace Karsh with Glenn and Fargo with Orlha and just spam attack until I beat the game.

I plan on using the stupidest fucking characters I can this time around
that means the fisherman even though I guess he's secretly OP and the mushroom for sure

Ypu can only get certain characters depending on what choices you make. It makes it repayable I guess.

>300,000 copies in NA
which was a fuckton for a SNES game that wasn't Street Fighter II or a Nintendo title.
That's more than FFVI sold in NA. In worldwide sales it was #20 for the entire system, for a game that came out extremely late in its lifespan for a higher than usual cost.

That's just blatant propoganda. You can literally look up honest information saying otherwise.

>The story is a hastily stitched together mess
Well, on top of the asspain you can feel from Kato here
you have to remember he was assmad as fuck already about Radical Dreamers being nixed because SE didn't want a text based game and forcing him to cram it into whatever the early shell of Cross was going to be instead.
