post your music right now

>video game music
there's your problem. Try writing music first.

Try making the game first so you actually know what kind of mood you're going for.

Learn what chord progressions / scales are

This

gotta know what sounds good together.

Listen to your favorite music and pay attention to how many instruments there are and how they're spaced. People will recommend music theory but i genuinely think you can make decent music the same way an artist can get good just from enough observation and practice.

It's easy, here's one for you off the top of my head:
EH REH
EH REH
EH REH
EH REH
EH REEEEEEEH
DO DO DODO
DOOOT DODO
EH REEEEEH
DOOOT DODO
EH REEEEEH

Perfect pitch user here, if you can hear it. Just do this.

sounds pretty good but I'm looking for something a little more... I don't know, like a strange funkish forest kinda feel, you know what I mean?

No way this is real

Did you slam your fingers on the keyboard? This feels way too aimless.

Yeah it's almost there in a sort of esoteric fart sniffer kind of way
Maybe listen to evergrace ost or something since you clearly don't have rhythm

lmao fuck you. go learn some music theory, or just listen to some good music and try and learn something.

What the fuck were you aiming for with this

Okay then, show me the music YOU made.

leave the melodic line the same; remove chord or repace them with slow attack pads.

right at 2 seconds it shits the bed
start there, the end part is a good start to the 2nd half of the melody, we need more illiterates making real music

Not trying to put you down user. But you should research some fundamentals of song writing. All I heard was a piano so definitely listen to some solo piano works. You can do it user. I believe in you.

it's called schizophrenia user. you're seeing patterns that are way too convoluted or even made up

LOOOOOOOL

I made on GarageBand

I like it but it's pretty simple.

shallow AND pedantic stuff

make a woodblock

so we're all in agreement op is trying to make jrpg music
get yee gone to /vrpg/ and ask them for tunes

Mmmmm lush af music right here

t. midwit

Grab LMMS or pirate FL Studio or some shit, just grab whatever.
Study beginner music theory stuff and fuck around with your DAW until the basic process clicks (piano roll, measures and beats, drums, chords. being able to put together a very basic song more or less)
From there, either learn to transcribe songs by ear or just grab MIDIs off vgmusic, import them, and study and/or remix or repurpose them. Maybe try remixing a song by fucking with the MIDI and then, once you've had some time with it, start a new project and then try to recreate a new version of the song using what you learned.

Just keep doing that, don't overanalyze, and trust your ears. Eventually, your intuition will build, and you'll get a better feel for how to put a song together. Just keep it up and eventually you can be Toby Fox or something idk

Soul

>either learn to transcribe songs by ear or just grab MIDIs off vgmusic, import them, and study and/or remix or repurpose them
bad advice lmao
>Maybe try remixing a song by fucking with the MIDI
decent idea

Needs a flute somewhere and some more brass imho, apart from that it's pretty good.

I like this one quite a bit but I wish the intro was cut in half, takes too long to get going.
