Memes aside, is it...actually a decent Borderlands game? I skipped 3 because I didn't want to pay for that pozzed shit, but I liked 2 despite the writing quality and it feels like so long since I really just enjoyed a lighthearted shooter.

But if the gameplay is just as trash as the writing, I'll pretend it doesn't exist.

I did, it's the best one outside of 1/3rd of the game being the ocean. Shame 3 was so shit, I imagine loads of people are skipping this one because of it.

The gameplay was the singular redeeming thing about 3, and it's only better in the new one. They traded grenades for magic and have an action skill to dual wield spells so I've been hucking magic more than shooting. The writing is better than 3 because it's emulating BL2 assault on dragon keep but it does have homosexuals and a tranny, but they aren't around for long and can be easily ignored.

Game takes place before 3 but after 2 so she's still around, but never appears. The only legacy characters who appear are Tina, Brick Torgue and Roland, but only in voice.
