ITT we talk about
>how many vidya you 100%ed
>the hardest 100% you ever did
>your rarest cheevos
>etc.
Why are we completionists? What is it that pushes us?
Is it even healthy? Is it autism?
Do you go beyond just achievements and do 100% of content even if it doesn't give anything? Like having all weapons, skins, having listened to all dialog possible in a game
lets go anons, time to brag here
COMPLETIONIST THREAD
don't spoil them all faggot
How to emote?
I am world first at having unveiled them all user, let me brag a bit
you see the smiley next to options? click on it, you'll open up the list
if you have points by having accumulated (you)s, you can spend them to unlock 3 or 10 random emotes you can immediately use, or click on the ones posted by other anons in the world to have them appear in the list as greyed out and purchasable, and then you can unlock the ones you like
you can only post one individual emote per post
that's all there is to this april fools event
correction on that, (you)s might not give you points, there's a chance you automatically get 10 of them every couple minutes or so
need more digging to confirm
But yeah we should probably talk about videogames now
I just 100%ed dark souls 3 and god DAMN the rings achievement was a chore
the side content that doesnt reward cheevos was way more fun
seems like all the threads or posts I make are pretty boring and not many anons ever care for a whatever I write about any topic, no matter how high effort or bait inducing it is
anyone else feels like this?
yes, it is part autism
witnessed all emotes without spending any points
thanks user
Shame vidya went down this direction and the industry capitalized on a mental illness
I remember having way more fun with games without them as a kid just doing whatever I wanted in them instead of trying to make it into a work esque chore where I purposefully hunt the cheevos
nowadays I don't even feel inclined to play any of these fucking fantastic games out there cause they don't have achievements
guess I just gotta break out of the habit and change my mindset towards vidyas
that's pretty nice, looks cleaner than mine, my only hope to have it look good is to actually unlock them all
probably getting the 10 randoms a bunch of times is the best deal, till it's about 90% complete
you're welcome man, hope youre having fun in this goofy event
God bless ya user
I cherish all folks who decide to reach out and write me a post, it's the only social interaction I get nowadays
>guess I just gotta break out of the habit and change my mindset towards vidyas
yes, that would be the only way. i suggest thinking about why you need achievements, then finding a game that can be a good middleground to ween you off
waaaaah
>i suggest thinking about why you need achievements
probably the same reason why someone needs to have his music collection tagged and organized properly, or why a kid wants to collect all pokemon tazos or bionicle sets
it's nothing more than a conditioned compulsive behaviour for brains that are susceptible to it, that gives a sense of control, order, achievement, and upon having everything in orderly fashion, a release of happiness chemicals
I'm ashamed to admit that so far I haven't done anything to change it despite knowing about it, just like smokers who know how shit it is and being fine with continuing
>then finding a game that can be a good middleground to ween you off
yep that's gonna be the elder scrolls and hitman series for me, they're super good for simply fucking around but then I'll eventually gravitate towards going for completing whatever there is to complete in the games, even in the older ones with no achievements
Oh yeah one more thing, it's most likely phone posters don't get to use the function, havent checked yet but seems to be the case from posts I've read
So if you're by chance from the phone, all the stuff I wrote probably won't apply cause it's unavailable there
Where do you see this? :thonk:
what about a game with either too many achievements or near impossible achievements? could be a good mental exercise
smiley button next to options when replying to a post
next to the options field should be a smiley to click on, if you're on the phone try changing to desktop version
FUCKING NICE
how'd you get so many points so fast though?
That'd be binding of isaac and ikaruga, I'm slowly eating away at isaac every now and then, and for ikaruga I bash my head against it for a couple hours not making any progress for 1cc or S ranks then give it about a month of rest till I decide to try again
Good advice though, should try to rotate games constantly instead of sticking to one till done and milked for all content
another mental exercise to try - find a game with a medium amount of achievements, then beat the game while trying to unlock as FEW achievements as possible. this way you can focus on the achievements, but in a backwards way than you usually do.
>how'd you get so many points so fast though?
it's not the points, it's the gacha that sometimes gives you extra emotes when you get repeats
