Literally my favorite JRPG. Gonna play the new one even if it looks like some mobile title they are trying to pass as a real console release.
Literally all I wanted was that melancholic setting and atmosphere of VP1 and immersing myself in the lives of random medieval people before they die. It's amazing how not a single sequel or ripoff of VP managed to correctly follow up on the perfection of the original game.

Valkyrie Profile is one of my favorite PS1 era games and one of my favorite games of all time.
I do not care about 2 or Covenant of the Plume.
I absolutely do not care about that Drakengard 3-looking action piece of shit announced recently.
I do not care about Hrist beyond her antagonistic role on the first game and I will never understand the obsession people have with her.

One of the things I liked the most about Valkyrie Profile was the chapter and time limit structure. When I played 2 and saw that it lacked both I dropped it faster than an unwanted baby. No wonder I don't care about Hrist, if 2 is a game where she's prominent.
I also didn't like how the PSP port of Valkyrie Profile tried super hard to sell the second game, like the post-SNES ports of Chrono Trigger try to shill Chrono Cross super hard.
