I'm a MILSIM fag
Arma is a great game, the only of his kind. I have over 3000 hours on it and can remember many great moments I had playing with my friends. But it takes a absurd amount of time and dedication to really experience the best this game has o offer. For every 1 hours of great and excited moments you'll likely spend 10 hours doing boring stuff like training, testing, wandering around, waiting while other people do stuff.
It end up taking so much of my time that I stopped playing it because I didn't have the time to play other games.

Absolutely not. It's all the boring parts of actually being in an army with 10x the amount of spergs and none of the physical benefits. I guess you don't end up with trauma and missing limbs but you waste just as much of your life doing it.

It's called milsim for a reason. It's not for everyone and it sounds like you would be better if with call of duty.

>I like the idea of it
In what way?
Do you want to shoot guns and dress in tacticool gear? Do you want to use realistic tactics?

Honestly no, and don't get it without DLCs because you won't definitely play it for more than 30 minutes

It takes a special kind of autism to play and enjoy Arma.
If you don't have it, then just stick with Battlefield instead.

>over 3000 hours

3000 hours.... Can you imagine if you were learning piano instead

But then how would you know what the difference between a BMP and BTR are?

I enjoy showing off my comparably vast knowledge of military equipment to my family

Sure beats playing ode to joy on the dusty wall piano at every family gathering.

So you're prepared for the ww3 i see

If you have a good group its fun
I used to edit missions for my small group of friends and I liked to go overboard with the amount of shit happening at times, like sending 3 attack helicopters and we only have rpgs, or destroying a convoy of 9 tanks and we only have mines and rpgs, most milsim fags are too scared of doing arcade missions and just go for MUH IMMERSION KILLING 5 DUDES IN 180 MINUTES

It was really fun to play missions where there were waves of enemies trying to flank you and every player in the group ended up with like 30-50 kills lmao, I also knew how to handle arma 3 shitty performance so we had far better performance than playing online with other people

It requires a modicum of patience and not ADHD zoomerbrain.

So not Any Forums then

well uhhh, I being playing this game since Alpha. But you're right, sometimes I look at my steam and I wish I had these hours back.

Its a military sandbox and with the right mods you'll become the player and the GM at the same time.
Play it for a while and decide what kind of autistic fuck you'll become to gather fellow minded spergs and have some >fun, theres no correct way to play it because theres lots of variety to it.

>every player in the group ended up with like 30-50 kills lmao

sounds like you were playing with really easy settings and mods.

Go back to your containment thread

Now thats a funny way to write /a3g/

Does that exist?

it's /milsim/ now, new and improved

In what way? It looks like you just added more bloat from what I can read in the OP. /a3g/ was pure Arma.

Is it weird that I've never heard of over half the games in that thread?

Or is this autism beyond my understanding and I should be thankful I'm not at that level?

Which other games would you recommend and some more multiplayer oriented?

it’s not worth it, any good scenarios that you might find will be ones you create. the tool for creating scenarios themselves is great and player content is good but if you just want to play something great someone else made you wont find it easily. also personal opinion but the map is ugly and makes me not want to play.

There are tons of weeb games with fervent cult followings that I've never heard of, welcome to the wonderful modern world of options.

Squad and HLL are way less autistic and more arcadey while still necessitating teamwork and good communication. Not nearly the same level of detail you'll get from Arma though.

>but the map is ugly
Which map? There are hundreds of them.

gimme some fun scenarios to make in the editor

That's a pretty good point. I'll just stick with what I know.

I don't want to dive into this rabbit hole of autism.

Russia vs Finland

Not anymore, at least not on /vg/ along with other tacticool generals
Its just like /coopg/, buncha co-op games generals in a single place

>the map is ugly
So you've never played APEX or Contact.
