This game is too fucking hard for me.
I'm getting completely fucked by black diablos, using a switchaxe. Should I switch to a different weapon?

get evasion, or evade extender, or quicksheathe, or a different weapon
No, if you're being too aggressive with SWAXE then dial it back. Be cautious and do single hits til the horn breaks. Bring shit to make traps so you can do your combos in piece, also learn the environmental traps for the same reason. Black Diablos isn't hard after you learn it but you're not a meme speed runner and if you're having trouble don't try to be
You should play Elden ring. When you try to roll you get stun locked and killed in 2 hits.
Greed is your n.1 enemy. Do 1 less hit than you'd normally do and you should be fine.
Black Diablos is a motherfucker and switchaxe has a lot of commitment on its attacks. For faster heavy-hitters like Diablos and Barioth, focus on playing defensively and getting partbreaks until the monster slows down. Trying to land your shit constantly will just get your killed. Also all the damage increasing skills only mean shit if you don't die, don't be afraid to just load up on evade extender and stun resist while you're learning patterns.
Attack more
I go ranged for Diablos, Beetlejuice, Deviljho, Kushala, and Rajang. Fuck those niggers.
Co-op you dumb cunt
>get evasion, or evade extender, or quicksheathe
My armor is a mix of random shit with high defense that I could buy. I guess I can't bruteforce fights like story mode anymore. I should check those
I was only trying to do the fight with diablos + black diablos because I wanted affinity booster
I'm not trying to rush, but I can't get a single hit on that spastic monster
Played and finished
I'll see how I do with different skills and a bit more patience
I'm trying
Fuck no
Defense is a trap in some ways. It's far better to avoid damage entirely through better positioning and anticipating attacks than it is to try and tank a hit.
>high defense
bruh fuck defense, anything reasonable will do and if it isn't just upgrade it. Skills are the only thing that matter
also stop getting hit
once you stop getting hit everything else will fall into place
Bros I tried playing mhgen and I can't even beat village hr testicabra. Did rise ruin me or was I always a shitter??
>Beetlejuice
He's easy when you flashfly his divebomb though
yes
You always were a shitter, tetsu is piss easy.
Get 2 QoL skills, Rest into damage, no need to minmax and go all damage
I like to go Health boost and faster consumables
>I can't get a single hit on that spastic monster
Switch axe may not be your jam for that boss then. Maybe stay in axe mode and fw+triangle near its face and run? I only played world on ps4 and went back to gu after I finished iceborne so I dunno the controls on the other versions. I do know you can mount it and get a few easy combos off but it sounds like you might just need to practice it until you get it. I had major issues with kushala daora with swaxe
You need to learn how to use more than one weapon for all monsters. For example, i've used SA, DualBlades, LBG, HBG and Hammer. Piercing gun was my choice against Black Diablos.
Don't be greedy with your hits, it's never smart to "trade" with a monster. Use all the tools at your disposal including traps, bombs, etc. Make sure you're keeping up with your equipment. You can try other weapons if you want, but don't feel like you have to because every weapon in these games can do every bit of content and have their own approach. Never listen to anyone who says you HAVE to switch weapons. That being said:
>too fucking hard
I've got bad news for you, user, World and Rise are the easiest games in the entire series by far. You're playing the baby games and haven't even gotten into the actual challenging ones. Just keep going at it
I couldn't get into this game at all. I played it with friends for 40 hours, and realized at the end that I was still forcing myself to play for their benefit. It just wasn't that much fun.
I guess I was expecting combat like Dragon's Dogma or Dark Souls, but it was like neither.
