Half? Over 90% is behind "dlc". Except it isn't really DLC but the full game. Base game is essentially a $3 demo. Just as Planned is the full game and also a lifetime season pass. It adds hundreds of songs and every future dlc that will ever release. All for the price of less than a single 10-song DLC you'd get in another game.

The thing is that this method is almost like the F2P method, the whole game is just a big ad for the main content (dlc) or in the case of F2P games (premium service)

Its better for the game to have a single price for admission, steam just also has the benefit of having an even cheaper way for you to dip your toe in before deciding if you want the full game.

I'd guess it's because vtubers used to like streaming it, but then that whole business with a vtuber acknowledging Taiwan and causing the entire China to try killing her happened, and the game's devs sides with China by forbidding vtubers from ever streaming it again.

You are paying $3 for a little over 50 songs. Home console rhythm games generally range between 40 and 70 base songs, so it's pretty average and already a good value for $3. Calling the base game a "paid demo" is unreasonable (unless you apply the same logic to other rhythm games with DLC, in which case you are still retarded but I can respect the logical consistency).
