I keep hearing the ammo complaint but I legit never ran out of ammo, I don't know how you guys managed it

I actually had fun with this unlike with Doom 2016.

You should not play Doom at all and stick to The Last of Us or something.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to beat the game without the chainsaw using the right set of perks and just picking up ammo in the arenas.
It's also pretty easy to beat the game without any upgrades or weapon mods because the bfg is a free win most of the time.
So where do these ammo complaints come from, between the chainsaw, the barrel ammo, the fact enemies occasionally drop ammo. How bad at resource management do you need to be to run out of ammo?

Eternal causes asshurt in Any Forums because it's a popular game that Any Forums can't attack for the usual shit.
There's no SJW crap, there's no movie shit, it's actually focused entirely on the gameplay, and it can get legitimately hard on the higher difficulties.
It gets so bad I remember some autist literally making one thread after another complaining about how when you pick up weapons it's some big floating icon instead of "those fucking cool animations from 2016".

I really liked it (except the bad plot; it's all skippable cutscenes unlike 2016's handful of plot dumps but they're much more numerous and much less interesting) but it's also very much not what I think most Doom fans wanted. Eternal is made for people who like fast-paced action games and 2016's Arcade Mode more than people who just want a AAA polished Doom in the style of the originals (2016 wasn't that either but it was closer so Eternal stepping further away wasn't what people were hoping for).

Personally? I really enjoyed the 3D Action game influence on the combat/mobility and didn't mind the level design resembling something like a Ninja Gaiden or Bayonetta stage more than classic Doom, and my favorite thing about 2016 was Arcade Mode, so again outside of the story I loved Eternal, but I realize that I'm the odd one out for fans of the entire series. If I'm honest, I even prefer Heretic to all the classic Dooms AND Hexen. So no, I wasn't disappointed, but I see plenty of reasons for others to be.

It's ironic that the games that cause most asshurt in Any Forums are Eternal and RDR2, two games that are the complete opposite when it comes to game design.

I loved the game but I was disappointed in the dlcs. Buffed enemies and turrets, seriously? That's all they could do?

yeah, it fucking sucks. Doom 2016 was pretty decent if not a little boring at times. Eternal is for actual retards though. Having to constantly do glory kills and chainsaw kill for ammo is a terrible gameplay loop and I don't get who it's designed for. Games like Roboquest are far superior
