Way I see it, there's two ways Sonic 3 can go:
>robotnik's efforts to destroy sonic with his big fuck-off robot fails, so he builds a robot to imitate and surpass sonic's abilities (metal sonic)
or
>same thing, but instead of turning to a metal sonic, robotnik delves into echidna lore and discovers chaos
They could feasibly do Shadow this soon, but it'd be some stupid shit about him being Robotnik's creation to fight Sonic or some BvS-esque 'option in case Sonic goes rogue'. I'd rather them do him right later instead of wrong now.
