It got some acclaim, but did they make money on it though? It was genuinely innovative and risky. Sadly I think it risks becoming a cult hit, and it will stay unique for decades.

>start a playthrough
>do the quest where the bum in rattay asks you to get his money stash in skalitz
>kill and loot high tier bandits that I would naturally find over in the ass end of the map
>now have high tier armour straight from the beginning of the game
was this how it was supposed to be designed?

It literally made them millionaires

Stopped playing at the monastery. God I hate this quest.
Yea that's stupid in my opinion. I had it even easier. I had two groups of Bandits both with high tier armor fighting each other. I just waited until one group wiped out the other and then just looted their remains.
They should no Bandits exist with such high tier armor in general. Full plate armor was extremely costly and usually only reserved for lords and such.

Sure, but any profit doesn't necessarily mean it's smart to make another game. In the grand scheme millions might not be very much.

Considering they're such a small studio and I mean what else should they do as a game studio? Eventually they would've to release something.

>Full plate armor was extremely costly and usually only reserved for lords and such.
These high tier bandits in the game are supposed to be jobless hedge knights preying on travellers between wars. France and the HRE were full of them at the time.

No they weren't and no if you were a "Knight" you'd have a lord. If you were a "jobless" Knight, you weren't a Knight. Your lord employs you and pays for you. If you'd lost your job as a Knight because of several reasons, like your Lord dying or your Lord simply having no need for you. You would most likely not keep that very costly armor.
Also the game doesn't portray Bandits well but it does portray random travelers and peasants well. So a Knight sits in some bush, to rob what? Some Peasant with a half eaten apple and maybe 1 or 2 Groschen in its pocket? No.
If you were Knight and you would still keep all that armor, you'd most likely be employed by another lord. Since Knights were still very much seldom and highly sought after.

Nah, leaderless knights were very common at the time. A good example are the Guglers of France (named for wearing Houndskull bascinets).
>During lulls in the Hundred Years War unemployed knights and soldiers of free companies often rampaged and plundered the French countryside until they were again engaged and paid by French or English overlords to do their bidding.

>unemployed knights and soldiers of free companies
What? You can't be an unemployed Knight. Its not possible.
>rampaged and plundered
That they did anyway but they did that in appropriate measures. They didn't sit in a camp waiting next to some road in bumfucknowhere. They were usually part of an army that was underpaid, so they pillaged the next big city or town.
But then again, they would wear heraldry, they would still have a lord over them even if he didn't pay them and they would still fly all colors associated with England or France.
Now if some Knights would regularly come around with a small army and sack Sasau. Okay makes sense.

Like the Guglers too, if you look them up they were still part of a french army that went sacking cities. They didn't sit in tiny camps in full plate armor, waiting for Henry to come around.

They were part of a French, English etc. army when there was a war going on. When there wasn't they were literally unemployed and lived off the land.

And your source for that is from a medieval 2 mod? Wow. Because after I googled it, I found out it was part of a french army and was supposed to be used but it never was used.
It didn't achieve any of its goals, it plundered a few cities but that's about it.

And why is it a sinking ship?

No, I literally live in a town that was burned down by them, there's a plaque commemorating it, it's part of history here.
>I found out it was part of a french army and was supposed to be used but it never was used.
Wut, nah, Swiss peasants gave them a whooping and they fucked off.

On the German Wikipedia page it says they were led by a french Lord called Enguerrand de Coucy. There were three armies that plundered a couple of cities, destroyed 2 apparently and eventually were driven off.
The army of 22.000 men were not able to achieve any war goals at that time.

how do I git gud at combat in this game
I can't even get a fuggin combo to land to save my life
