30th Anniversary of D00M In 2023

What do they have planned?

Another anniversary much later on

I don't get it... the 40th in 2033?

they could be planning a new game since the time between doom 2016's release and doom eternals announcement was only 2 years and eternal would have been out for 3

Yeah, seems legit. I can definitely see them releasing a new D00M on the 30th anniversary of its original release.
Maybe a Holiday 2023 date or something...

i could see it being announced at quakecon next year but i doubt a release that year
game devs lately are really taking their time

Really depends, they'll probably reuse a lot of the assets from Eternal desu, but then again a more reasonable expectation might be like a D00M 30th Anniversary Edition collector's bundle containing literally every single game, right? Maybe some other goodies as well...

talk about how epic metadoom is and hope for a doom 6

Eternal killed the series, zero hype

Eternal was great, faggot subhuman

Eternal was okay. Just not very replayable due to the linear skatepark design and they dropped the ball on atmosphere.

thought they were going tro take a break from doom

The rumours have been that they are going to give Quake the 2016 treatment next.

They're doing another singleplayer Quake next, not Doom, hence why Hugo kept referring to the Ancient Gods dlc as nuDoom's "Return of the Jedi".

awesome. hope it's like quake 1 and has a nasty industrial look to it.

Quake 5 aside, i recall vague statements such as
>The Slayer still has things to kill out there
>There are more powerfull things above the Dark Lord
>We haven't made our best Doom yet
>We have more stories to tell of the Doom universe
And consider how people were disappointed with TAG2 and even shit like the "Nooooooo" mysterious voice being changed in the base game, as if they were struggling with something
Even besides the lore, you can technically still get creative with gameplay mechanics and new designs to make a new game be somewhat distinct from Eternal
Most Doom games have their own differences and they could take a Metar Gear Solid approach of doing so much with a single game like it's the last
The amount of creativity and thinking needed to make a Doom game that solid and justified is why the series won't have a milking problem as shit like COD
Even if it includes modelling an extremely detailed chittin demon's ass

Next Doom game we will play as Crash.

>people expected something bigger and scarier than the icon of sin
>or at least something to sell the idea of fighting another doomguy
>neither these 2 went anywhere
>it's another marauder but with a mech
It's clear that tying all of this under a season pass release was a bad idea

at least, when they were asked about a "female slayer" they said she has to play differently from the doomguy
id seems to think of doom as an experimental sandbox

If they didn't try so hard to push Battlemode as a thing I imagine they would have just sold Ancient Gods as a standalone expansion instead like how Machine Games handled stuff like Old Blood/Youngblood. Probably would have resulted in AG having larger budget and more dev time too.

imagine if battlemode's and even 2016 mp's assets were used in a horde mode
