Did you just rush in straight to fight Butterfly?
Beat Gyobu and return, she should be easier
If it's the illusions that are giving trouble, there are like 5 Snap Seeds on a tree where you meat the Great White Serpent
If all else fails, remember the tutorial pop-up that appears before facing Butterfly. Following that should make things easier

Yes I rushed to her there's no early skill to counter butterfly so skill points are irrelevant anyway. but the main reason I lost so much is I took guarding for granted and receiving chip damage changed my perspective.
