It was good but it needed more time. Yes I know it took like 20 years to come out but it needed more time.

SMT5 is... okay, it's okay, I don't really feel strongly either way.

As a longtime SMT fan I really enjoyed this game and I do not understand the hate at all. Can someone explain to me why this game seems to be so polarizing?

fuck you I uninstalled. I don't mind hard games, It's this bullshit obsession with 90's gook mechanics like save-points that really irk me. Fuck you I don't care I started playing three houses instead.

Should I even be attempting to beat Shiva on my first playthrough, or get the other endings first?

You can beat him but you'll end up overleveled for everything in the Empyrean and the final boss in the Law/Chaos ending so I'd say to leave him and the true ending for NG+

The story is poorly presented and the characters are all underutilized, also a lot of reused assets and the maps are more or less the same desert with a different color.

For normal people. The game could have done a bit more in pretty much all areas, but was a fairly big step for mainline in many ways and will likely be the foundation which later games improve on. Some issues people had with the gameplay like crit magatsuhi is the only good one have proven to be not as accurate with time. While every game usually benefits from its updated versions, V does feel a bit pre-maniax Nocturne levels of there is some story component missing.

On the other hand. SMT has a lot of Schizo fans who base their personality on what game they hate this month, and what obscure untranslated game is the secret best. So a new SMT game doing well and being critically well received broke them. This is partly cause of discord schizo and eceleb cliques, sniffing their own farts and forming prayer circles where they sacrifice effigies of Doi so Kaneko will come back. The SMT fandom has turned into two sides shouting at each other "why can we never complain?" and "why is complaining the only thing you ever do?" SMT needs to reach critical mass to escape the weirdos.

will this come out on pc? I'm taking about a proper release not emulation

I liked the game, it was probably my second favorite game of 2021 after TWEWY but it feels like it needed an extra area to explore so you can hang out with Yuzuru and see his perspective on things. For a game that's literally Nocturne 2 the chaos rep got screwed badly by the narrative.

Its really underwhelming. To me it feels like what an AI generated SMT game would be... Thats not to say I hate it though, literally played it nonstop until I finished it. Just wished it had more substance to it, especially in the story department
