if you follow rogier's quest which im pretty sure is the intended route then you only ever found her and agreed to work for her to get the cursemark
she agrees to let you work for her and to show you the cursemark if you got the other item for her in return
after you fulfill your end of the agreement she fulfills hers and she relieves you of her service
it doesnt have to go further than that, you pursuing her was outside the agreement and something you have to do yourself

I used a guide but in hindsight it seems pretty straightforward. Start the quest either through Rogier, Blaidd or directly by talking to Ranni. Follow instructions. Talk to Iji when in doubt. Receive wife

Its actually one of the more straightforward quests From has given an NPC. You can find a lot of context clues if you revisit other characters like Iji. It doesn't give you everything of course but its better than most quest from like DS1 where you have a short convo and then they disappear with little to no indication where they went.
