holy shit. I've never gotten the windows port the run correctly, even on PCem using the exact system requirements. The game will speed up and slow down constantly.

Wipeout was a DOS game. This source code compiles a native Win32 binary.

I made some research. Apparently, there was a native Windows version that for some reason was only released via OEM with Sony Vaio PCs including ATI Rage GPUs in 1996.
Oddly enough, there are two Windows folders in the source code release, Win95 (that has a precompiled binary) and Wipeout98 (that -probably- does not have it).

Nah. There's way too much detail. I think the vehicles were solid colors since it was probably running on a 95.
